Basal cell carcinomas typically appear as small, raised bumps on the skin that may be pink, red, white, or brown in color. They can also appear as flat, scaly patches on the skin. Basal cell carcinomas usually occur on areas of the skin that have been exposed to sunlight, such as the face, neck, chest, and back. Treatment for basal cell carcinoma often involves surgery to remove the tumor.
